The Project

Headmaze Inc. is a new location-based entertainment company introducing Immersive Monuments: giant sculptures with interactive art experiences inside. Imagine walking in the heart of a major city and coming across an awe inspiring 40 foot head. You can’t help but move closer to see the detailed expression on its face and the massive stained glass mural ripping from its skull. However, it quickly reveals its secret, the sculpture is just the start! Inside, a labyrinth of the mind. Buy the ticket, enter the sculpture and your mind is blown, for this is no art gallery. Art, technology, gamification, performers, and playscapes seamlessly combine to lead you on a 60+ minute story-driven adventure. Like a surrealist dreamscape, each room is an interwoven multi-sensory experience celebrating madness, mindfulness, and play while contemplating mental health, creativity and consciousness.

Created By:

Headmaze was created by The Pier Group, a collective of artists responsible for immersive monumental works at Burning Man over the last 10 years whose iconic portfolio includes: The Pier (2011), La Llorona (2012), Embrace (2014) and The Space Whale (2016). At Burning Man 2019, the Pier group launched the first Headmaze, a 4-story monument, with a 22 room labyrinth inside. The piece was a huge success with 1-3 hour lines throughout its festival run. In 2013, Schultz founded The Generator Inc. a non-profit makerspace with 500 members in Reno, NV. The Generator is currently building a new 50,000 sqf. creative arts center and supports dozens of large-scale creative projects worldwide annually.
